Albany Port Authority

Albany Port was the first Port in Western Australia and as such the main port for the new colony when it settled in 1826. The European settlers found that Princess Royal Harbour provided welcome protection from the fearsome weather of the South Coast.This harbour continues to provide safe anchorage to ships.

The main trade of the port consists of grain and woodchips.Other trades include silica sand, fertiliser and bio mass fuel pellets.The Albany Port is the first Port in Australia to export bio mass fuel pellets.

The Port contributes to the economic prosperity of the state of Western Australia and the Great Southern Region with an annual average export of 4 million tonnes of product.
